At CPC, we offer convenient appointments for well-child and sick visits, as well as free prenatal consults for expecting parents. We understand that pediatric patients are prone to unexpected injuries and illnesses; that is why we are here for you when these pressing needs arise.
With our team of caring and compassionate pediatric specialists, we are able to treat many common childhood conditions, including:
We are proud to be the medical team concerned parents like you turn to for urgent pediatric care, and we also provide support and education to help children establish healthy habits early in life. Our approach to pediatrics emphasizes preventive care, as we believe it’s much easier to keep a healthy child healthy than to add unexpected doctor’s visits into your already hectic schedule. That’s why well-child visits, developmental screenings, behavioral health counseling, and occasional blood pressure/cholesterol tests are key services offered by our pediatrics team.
And in the event that your child requires specialty care from another member of Cullman Primary Care Multi-Specialty Group, our pediatricians will be able to have immediate access to medical notes or updates through our electronic records system. We know that parents already have enough to worry about. Handling paperwork is one less thing you have to deal with.
What Does a Pediatrician Do?
Most hospitals will ask if you have a pediatrician when you go into delivery. Your baby's first examination may be with a hospital pediatrician or your chosen pediatrician. It depends on the hospital's policy and whether your newborn's doctor makes rounds there. If a hospital pediatrician checks your baby, they'll send your pediatrician notes about the exam. After you leave the hospital, your pediatrician will see your baby 48 to 72 hours later, and regularly after that for checkups.
Well-child visits are typically conducted once a year from the age of 2 years old through the teen years. Of course, your pediatrician is also the first person to call whenever your child is sick.
The healthcare services your CPC pediatrician will provide includes:
⦁ Physical exams
⦁ Monitoring for age-related milestones in growth, behavior, and skills
⦁ Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, infections, injuries, and other health problems
⦁ Guidance about your child's health, safety, nutrition, and fitness needs
⦁ Answer any questions you may have about your little one's growth and development
⦁ Referrals to specialists when necessary
