Sports Injuries

Many orthopedic injuries occur during sports – either through direct trauma with another body or object, or due to a fall or misstep. Athletics are also to blame for orthopedic injuries due to repetitive stress. That’s because practicing and playing a specific sport requires repeating similar movements again and again, which can quickly lead to pain and inflammation due to overuse.

Your Treatment Options

Treating orthopedic injuries can vary significantly from person to person. What is most appropriate for you may depend on the type and extent of your injury, severity of your symptoms, your current medical condition, and your treatment goals and personal preferences.

Typically, your medical provider will begin with conservative treatment options before moving onto more invasive approaches, such as surgery. For example, physical therapy and/or immobilizing devices like braces or splints may be recommended initially. Minimally invasive pain management techniques, such as corticosteroid injections to relieve pain caused by inflammation, may be tried next. When all else fails, surgery may offer the best chances for permanent relief from your pain and other symptoms.

Joint Replacement & Other Surgery

At CPC, we offer a wide range of orthopedic surgical solutions, depending on your medical needs. Our orthopedic surgeon is trained and experienced in both arthroscopic surgery as well as robotic-assisted surgery.

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves making just a small incision and using small, flexible instruments that allow access to the site of surgery without having to cut or harm healthy surrounding tissue. This results in less post-op pain, less scarring, and a faster recovery period than traditional “open” surgery. Arthroscopy can be used to diagnose and treat a wide variety of orthopedic issues, including joint replacement surgeries.

Robotic-assisted surgery is particularly valuable for joint replacements of the hip, knee, or shoulder. During this type of procedure, your surgeon controls a robotic arm that allows unsurpassed precision and dexterity when fitting a prosthesis into place. This provides the most natural-feeling prosthetic fit possible today.

In addition to partial and full hip, knee, or shoulder replacements, we can surgically repair many different hand and wrist or foot and ankle issues. Tendon and rotator cuff repairs are also common orthopedic surgeries that can permanently relieve your pain and fix your injury.
