What should I do to prepare before calling?

Our office receives a large number of phone calls daily dealing with appointment scheduling, medical questions, emergencies, prescription refills, requests for lab results, insurance information, and other important business. Naturally, we would like to take care of any phone business as efficiently as possible. You can help us by having certain information handy before calling. Consider having a calendar, a list of your symptoms, or your pharmacy phone number ready. You may call at any time, though we suggest you call during the afternoon when our phones are least busy. There will be a nominal charge for diagnoses with prescriptions handled by phone. Certain diagnoses and recommendations can be made by phone. However, unless your problem is a special emergency, we would rather not interrupt the doctors from seeing patients during appointments. Instead, you doctor or the nurse will return your call as soon as possible.
